Admissions & Enrollment
RISE is a tuition-free, public charter school. Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis subject to the priority rankings outlined below and the number of seats available. If the number of applications exceeds the number of seats available, the school is required to select students through a lottery.
RISE will open with Pre-K, Kindergarten and 1st Grade students in August of 2025.
Regardless of priority rankings, applications must be submitted by the deadline to be considered. Priority rankings are as follows:
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis after March 14th with a monthly lottery held on the 15th of each month until all seats are filled. If you have more questions about enrollment, the lottery system, family priority, etc., check out our FAQ!
- Tier 1: Students who live in the 73111, 73105, 73117 zip codes and the children of RISE STEAM Academy employees or board members.
- Tier 2: Students who live in Oklahoma City Public School boundaries.
- Tier 3: Students who live outside of the Oklahoma City Public School boundaries. Any students admitted from this category must be eligible for out-of-district transfer and submit the appropriate transfer documents in accordance with the timelines set forth in the Education Open Transfer Act, 70 O.S. 2011, § 8-101.1, et.
